MESSAGES FROM THE PRESIDENT

March 26, 2026 - Santa Rosa Junior College will be closed on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. As Governor Newsom signed into law today, this day is now known as Farmworkers Day.

March 19, 2026, Like many of you, I woke up yesterday morning to the reports and accusations of sexual misconduct involving César Chavez, along with Dolores Huerta sharing her own experiences of abuse. For many in our community, this news is painful and difficult to reconcile.

January 16, 2026, Santa Rosa Junior College is aware of the recent U.S. Department of Education announcement regarding Title IX investigations at several institutions, including SRJC. We want to assure our community that we are cooperating with the process and are working with legal counsel to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance.

January 16, 2026. On Monday, January 19, 2026, all SRJC campuses and sites will be closed in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This is a time to honor Dr. King’s legacy and the values he advanced through his leadership, scholarship, and moral clarity.

November 7, 2025 - In observance of Veterans Day, all Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) sites will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Veterans Day is a time to honor those who have served and to reflect on the fundamental rights and liberties that our veterans have bravely defended.

October 22, 2025 - This ongoing work strengthens our governance framework, clarifies roles and processes, follows the development an approval process, and advances our shared commitment to student success and institutional effectiveness.

October 14, 2025 -On Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10:46 am, we will test the SRJC alert emergency notification system and practice earthquake safety procedures across all campuses and sites as part of the International ShakeOut Day.  

October 9, 2025 - On Thursday, October 16, 2025, SRJC will test its emergency alert system across all campuses and sites by holding an earthquake alert test as part of the International ShakeOut Day.

October 8, 2025 - Planned protest is scheduled ahead of tonight’s women’s volleyball game, beginning around 5:30 p.m. outside Haehl Pavilion on the Santa Rosa campus.
