Banner Update: October 16, 2026

October 16, 2026
Dear SRJC Community,

As we prepare for Spring 2027 registration, below is this week's update on our ongoing work to improve Banner. Our teams are working with Ellucian to address outstanding issues, test corrections, and prioritize problems that most directly affect students and employees.

This week’s work continues across the five key areas:

  1. Financial Aid: Addressing issues with Satisfactory Academic Progress calculations, federal reporting, fee waivers, and BankMobile data files.
  2. Enrollment: Working to correct catalog-year and DegreeWorks issues, prerequisite and transfer-grade validation, and student record accuracy.
  3. Spring Registration: Prioritizing prerequisite checks, add/drop functionality, priority registration rules, and waitlist notifications ahead of November 16 registration.
  4. Integrations and Data: Resolving issues affecting the exchange of information among Banner and systems supporting disability services, education plans, course scheduling, scholarships, and other college operations.
  5. User Experience and Accessibility: Addressing accessibility barriers in the Schedule of Classes and improving the usability of student- and employee-facing features.

We have delivered some corrections, which are pending SRJC validation, while other issues remain open or require additional work. We will continue to test solutions carefully before considering issues resolved and will keep prioritizing those that affect students’ ability to access services, register for classes, and make progress toward their educational goals.

Please review the latest update from Vice President of Academic Affairs Robert Holcomb and Vice President of Student Services Molly Senecal for more details.

Thank you to everyone across SRJC who continues to identify problems, support students, and work collaboratively toward solutions. I recognize the effort this requires, and I appreciate your continued commitment to students and one another.
