February 18, 2025, The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights issued a "Dear Colleague" letter on February 14, 2025, outlining its interpretation of the Supreme Court’s Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard decision. Though it does not carry the force of law. SRJC remains in compliance with Proposition 209 and will continue monitoring developments, ensuring its policies align with legal requirements while upholding its mission of equity and student success.
