Banner Update: October 9, 2026

October 9, 2026
Dear SRJC Community,

As we close this week, I want to provide another update on the work underway to address the highest-priority Banner issues affecting students and employees. The SRJC team continues to validate the corrections that have been tested.  Some corrections have generated additional items to review, and the team is addressing them as they arise. Projects are not considered resolved until SRJC has tested and validated the work.

The updates below reflect the progress made over the past week:

1. Financial Aid

There have been several issues resolved in areas that require information, such as GPA calculations, needed for SAP renewal grades, EW, and transfer GPA summary lines.  Several fields are with the SRJC team for validation, including reports that provide information for appropriate and timely drawdown of federal funds.

2. Enrollment

The class list field has been corrected so faculty can email students on their class rosters, including those who mark "preferred email." Additionally, we addressed overlapping wait list notifications so students receive notice of an available seat before the 24-hour window closes.

3. Spring Registration

The placement fields have been corrected so MMPS data loads for students. We corrected faculty load history reports, and they are with the SRJC team for validation.

4. Integrations

We resolved the Award Spring integration issue, and scholarship applications are now open for submission. The Time Keeper student attendance tracking system and Rave Alert integrations are now with the SRJC team for validation. Symplicity Accommodate has been updated to confirm registered students in the student extract processes.

5. User Experience and Accessibility
Although financial aid disbursements are not paid out of Banner, financial aid is an important part of the student experience, so I want to share that last week we became aware of a security incident involving BankMobile, the third-party provider that the majority of California Community Colleges and other higher education institutions across the nation use for financial aid disbursements. We have no evidence that SRJC students were impacted; however, out of an abundance of caution, we followed the Chancellor’s Office recommendation to temporarily pause disbursements. The security fix is now in place, and disbursements will resume on schedule next week. Please note that this is not related to Banner or an SRJC system.

As a reminder, previous Banner updates from me are available online, and Vice President Robert Holcomb and Vice President Molly Senecal send more detailed transition updates each week, also available online.
