Dear SRJC Community,
In November 2024, we shared the Shone Farm District Response Plan, outlining key initiatives to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment within the Shone Farm and Agriculture & Natural Resources Community. We are pleased to share the Fall 2024 Progress Report along with priorities for Spring 2025.
Fall 2024 Progress
During Fall 2024, we focused on 10 key action items to enhance student access to resources, strengthen academic programs, ensure fiscal sustainability, and refine site operations. Key efforts included planning for in-person counseling services, implementing cost-saving measures in farm operations, and reviewing instructional support needs.
Spring 2025 Priorities
With 21 action items spanning all seven priority areas, District-wide collaboration will be essential. Some key focus areas include expanding student support services, advancing long-term sustainability planning, refining instructional support, addressing personnel conflicts and inclusivity issues, and strengthening community partnerships.
As we move forward, staying focused and committed to implementing these strategies will be key to our success. This work is not just about policies and plans—it’s about creating an environment where students, faculty, and staff feel supported and valued. I am grateful for the dedication, hard work, and collaboration that have driven our progress so far, and I look forward to continuing this momentum as we shape the future of Shone Farm and the Agriculture & Natural Resources community.
