Dear SRJC Community,
Welcome to the Spring 2026 semester.
¡Feliz Año Nuevo! The start of a new semester brings both possibility and reflection. I am approaching this moment and this semester with intention and continued focus on students and our community. There will always be more work to do, more ideas to explore, and more demands on our time. What matters is how we choose to direct our energy and stay centered on the work that makes the greatest difference.
The Fall 2025 semester demonstrated what is possible when we remain grounded in purpose. Across the District, I saw care, persistence, and collaboration in action. Students continued progressing toward their goals, and faculty and staff created learning environments and support systems that helped students stay connected and move forward, even amid complexity and change. SRJC continues to be a constant source of stability, support, and encouragement for students. You make this possible for students every day.
That focus is anchored in the District Strategic Plan and the steps we are taking to advance our initiatives: academic quality, student success and support, responsiveness to our community, and campus climate and culture. Across the District, our collective efforts are centered on advancing this work in tangible ways and creating an environment where students and employees can do their best work. This includes strengthening our Hispanic Serving Institution servingness efforts, enhancing student orientation programs to better support students as they begin their SRJC journey, and thoughtfully assessing the role of GenAI in our teaching, learning, and operations.
Spring also invites us to look outward and ahead. The learning that happens at SRJC connects students to opportunity, strengthens the community we serve, and reflects the role this college plays across Sonoma County. Through community roundtables held across the county, SRJC is engaging directly with employers, partners, and community leaders to better understand regional needs. That ongoing dialogue helps inform the pathways we create for students and contributes to a stronger region for everyone.
I encourage us to move forward this semester with intention, shared purpose, and care for our college, our community, and our future. Thank you for all that you bring to this college and to the students we serve.
Here’s to a great semester.
