May 1, 2023, Santa Rosa, CA — The Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) Dance Program presents an evening of unforgettable dance that will fill every inch of the stage with dynamic, colorful, high voltage movement that celebrates the effects of dance on the human body and soul. Multiple performances are scheduled, with evening shows on May 12 and 13 at 7pm, and a Mother’s Day 2 pm matinee, with tickets at a slight discount to treat mom to an artistic afternoon out.

Affects is a verb meaning “impacts or changes.” Effect is a noun meaning, “the result of a change.”

Directed by Casandra Hillman and Tanya Knippelmeir, “Affects/Effect” will feature new works by Emmy nominated choreographer Dylan Smith, international Latin dancer José Santamaria, and SRJC Dance faculty and student choreographers. The event features professional guest artist performances by UPside Dance Company, Funny Bones Crew and—back by popular demand—the nationally recognized piece PLATYPUS! Every piece is guaranteed to mesmerize, ignite, and delight.

All performances will be at Burbank Theater on the Santa Rosa campus, 1501 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95401. Tickets are $25 General, $20 Senior Citizens/Students with valid ID, $15 Youth under 12, Children under 5- Free.
