Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) Athletics is launching an Intercollegiate Women’s Wrestling program, competing in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) during the spring 2025 semester. The team will be led by Head Coach Friedrich Duerr. This marks a significant expansion of the college’s athletics offerings, emphasizing its commitment to fostering diverse opportunities for student-athletes.
Recognizing the growth and popularity of women’s wrestling nationwide, SRJC aims to provide female student-athletes with a platform to excel both academically and athletically. The addition of this program aligns with SRJC’s mission to empower students through sports and education.
Recruitment efforts are already underway, and the Women’s Wrestling program will officially debut in the Spring 2025 semester. The team’s first competition schedule will be announced in the coming months.
“We are excited to bring women’s wrestling to SRJC and offer a groundbreaking opportunity for female athletes to showcase their talent at the collegiate level,” said Coach Duerr. “Our goal is to build a competitive program that reflects the grit and determination of our student-athletes.”
