August 8, 2024 - Santa Rosa, CA – SRJC Theatre Arts Department is pleased to announce its upcoming season of four delightful and engaging comedies including All in the Timing, An Evening of David Ives, The Rocky Horror Show, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Rumors. From the poignant and romantic, to the intriguing and outlandish, these shows will entertain, inspire and surprise.
All shows feature a talented ensemble of local SRJC students as actors, orchestra musicians, assistant designers and back stage crew members. Held in the newly-renovated Burbank Auditorium state-of-the-art theatres. Tickets on sale August 30, 2024.

All in the Timing, An Evening of David Ives Comedies

Prepare to be swept away into a world of wit, whimsy, and wonder with David Ives' All in the Timing. This collection of six hilarious one-act plays explores the absurdity of human relationships, communication mishaps, and the quirks of existence itself. All in the Timing promises an evening of uproarious entertainment that will leave audiences both charmed and delighted.

Follow the misadventures of Brad and Janet, an innocent couple whose car breaks down on a stormy night, leading them to the bizarre castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a mad scientist and self-proclaimed 'sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania.' Audiences are swept away on a whirlwind journey of rock music, campy humor, and gender-bending delights. With its infectious tunes, daring themes, and interactive audience participation, The Rocky Horror Show is a cult classic that guarantees a wild and unforgettable theatrical experience.

Featuring an October 31st Halloween Opening Night and a special Midnight Performance on Friday, November 8th.
Recommendations: Parental discretion and pre-show research strongly advised. The Rocky Horror Show is recommended for audiences 14 years and older, and children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Follow the captivating journey of six eclectic middle schoolers as they compete for spelling glory in the high-stakes Putnam County Spelling Bee. The contestants navigate the rollercoaster of adolescence while showcasing their unique talents and insecurities. With infectious musical numbers, unexpected twists, and moments of genuine emotion, this Tony Award-winning musical celebrates the triumphs and tribulations of growing up, spelling out a message of acceptance, resilience, and the joy of being true to oneself.

Enter the world of high society hilarity with Neil Simon's Rumors. Set in an elegant townhouse on the outskirts of New York City, this fast-paced farce unfolds as guests arrive for a glamorous anniversary celebration, only to discover the host lying unconscious with a gunshot wound and the servants missing. The evening spirals into chaos, and leads to a series of misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and madcap antics. Rumors is a riotous comedy of errors that keeps audiences guessing until the final curtain falls.
