SRJC Students Win NBBJ’s “Big Ad Challenge” for Third Consecutive Year

January 5, 2018 – For the third year in a row, a team of Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) students has won the 2017 “Big Ad Challenge,” coached and led by SRJC Instructor Kelly Windsor. The competition, sponsored by The North Bay Business Journal (NBBJ) and Wells Fargo Bank and, is the region's major event for college marketing students. Participants included student teams from SRJC, Sonoma State, and Dominican University.

The competition paired small businesses and non-profit organizations with marketing, advertising and graphic design students from local colleges and universities. That team of students was tasked with developing a semester-long creative media campaign that addresses the organization’s needs within the budget guidelines for the competition. The winning business/non-profit organization, Community Child Care Council (4Cs) of Sonoma County, won a $25,000 ad campaign in NBBJ. SRJC’s winning team from SRJC was comprised of five international students.
