SRJC Student Receives a New Car From G&C Crozat Family Foundation

July 13, 2017 -  Santa Rosa Junior College’s (SRJC’s) HOPE Center nominated student Alicia Sealund to receive a car since hers was breaking down and was dangerous.

Alicia, 27, had a very difficult childhood. Three years ago Alicia and her four siblings lost their mother to cancer. She became a parent overnight, assuming the guardianship for her (then) 10-year-old sister. She is doing everything she can to support her sister and to stay in school and is currently taking classes toward a Radiologic Technology degree. With bulging tires and overheating radiator, she was desperate to be able to finish the spring semester.

Learning about Alicia’s situation, Jeannie Dulberg, Director of the Health Occupations Preparation and Education Program (HOPE) at Santa Rosa Junior College, decided to send a nomination to the Crozat Family Foundation’s "Car-A-Month" giveaway. Much to everyone's delight, Alicia won. She also has received six months of car insurance, six months of gas cards ($200 a month) and six months of grocery gift cards ($300 a month).

Alicia received the car early in June. The gift was announced on KZST Radio Station.

The Crozat Family Foundation’s Car-A-Month Giveaway dedicates their efforts to helping people extenuating circumstances and was started by the late Gene Crozat, G&C Auto Body founder and owner.
