April 2, 2025, Santa Rosa, CA –– Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) is pleased to present Neil Simon’s uproarious comedy, “Rumors,” opening Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Main Stage Theatre in Burbank Auditorium. Directed by Elizabeth Dale, the play will run at the Santa Rosa Junior College’s Burbank Auditorium, showcasing SRJC’s talented cast and crew in a night of madcap mayhem and sharp wit.
Set in an upscale mansion in Sneden’s Landing, New York in 1990, “Rumors” follows four affluent couples arriving for a dinner party celebrating their friend’s 10th wedding anniversary—only to find the host has apparently accidentally shot himself in the ear while his wife is nowhere to be found. As they run around the stage trying to protect their reputations and piece together what happened, utter chaos ensues with mistaken identities, outrageous cover-ups, and nonstop farcical confusion.
“We are excited to bring this classic comedy to the stage,” said director Dale. “Rumors” is an ideal blend of fast-paced dialogue, absurd situations, and wacky physical comedy that should keep the audience laughing from start to finish.”
Don’t miss this side-splitting production that is designed for audiences who are looking for a break from today’s worrisome events!
