October 15, 2024, Petaluma, CA – The Herold Mahoney Library Gallery on the SRJC Petaluma campus is proud to announce the highly anticipated exhibit Shepard Fairey: On The Wall, showcasing the artwork of internationally renowned artist Shepard Fairey. Running from September 23, 2024, to April 11, 2025, the exhibit will kick off with an opening reception on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The reception promises to be a vibrant celebration of Fairey’s work, with music provided by DJ “Saint Rose Disco” and complimentary snacks. This event offers a unique opportunity to view Fairey’s influential pieces up close and interact with fellow art enthusiasts.

Additionally, visitors will have a second chance to experience On The Wall in a lively setting during LumaFest on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. As part of the festivities, Mahoney Library will be open, and Art Faculty member Christopher Synicky will lead a hands-on collaborative mural or poster-making session using stencils from Fairey’s OBEY Giant website. Participants will also receive an exclusive OBEY sticker, while supplies last.

Alongside the Shepard Fairey: On The Wall exhibit, the library will display Day of the Dead altars/ofrendas, providing a rich cultural experience for all visitors.
