Dear SRJC Community,
Welcome to the Fall 2025 semester! There’s a special energy that arrives with the start of a new academic year—new notebooks and gradebooks, walkways buzzing with activity, classrooms alive with curiosity, new students throughout our campuses and sites, student athletes practicing, and a community ready to reconnect and move forward together.
I’m especially grateful to be back on campus, albeit moving slowly, following my medical leave. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Cabinet for their steady leadership and care during my time away. I also want to extend my sincerest gratitude for Vice President Kate Jolley’s calm and consistent leadership in the role of Acting Superintendent/President during a very busy summer. It’s a joy to return at such a vibrant moment, as fresh energy and shared purpose take root across our campuses and sites.
Whether you're returning to SRJC or joining us for the first time, welcome. You’re part of a community that is committed to your growth, your success, and your sense of belonging. We’re so glad you’re here.
Construction crews worked across the District this summer to enhance the spaces where we learn, teach, and gather. On the Santa Rosa campus, Parking Lot C has received a facelift with fresh pavement and striping, and the construction fence is being removed—restoring access through the north end. And over at the athletic fields, new Bear Cub branding adds a bold splash of school spirit.
Just as we’re transforming our campuses, we’re also advancing our shared purpose. With our 2025–2030 District Strategic Plan now in place, we begin this year with a clear roadmap to guide our work. The four strategic initiatives—Academic Quality, Student Success & Support, Responsiveness to our Community, and Campus Climate & Culture—will focus our efforts and help us navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.
This year, I invite each of us to help build a more inclusive and equitable SRJC. Let us lead with curiosity, act with care, and bring our mission, vision, and values to life—not just in words, but in the ways we show up for one another every day.
To students: We believe in your potential and are here to support you each step of the way. To employees: your dedication, creativity, and care are the heart of this institution.
