Dear SRJC Community,  

For more than a century, Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) and Santa Rosa City Schools (SRCS) have shared a strong and enduring commitment to education in Sonoma County, expanding learning opportunities and increasing educational attainment throughout our local community. As public institutions, we hold both the privilege and the responsibility of ensuring access to quality education for all, regardless of background or experience.  

In recent years, our institutions have navigated significant challenges—from regional wildfires to a global pandemic—at times in direct collaboration, always in steadfast support of one another. Today, we face new challenges that call us to ground our work and our decisions in our mission to educate students.  

As the SRCS leadership team and board engage in the complex and difficult process of achieving fiscal stability, I want to express SRJC’s support for student-centered, mission-driven decisions. SRCS students are SRJC students—we are part of a shared educational ecosystem that provides access and opportunity for young people and their families. The pathway from K-12 to SRJC to SSU exemplifies the strength and impact of public education in our community. 

We are deeply connected to our educational partners. Just as we partnered with SSU to support students during their fiscal and programmatic challenges, we will stand alongside SRCS to support high school students impacted by school closures. Our commitment remains firm: to foster collaboration, expand joint programming, and build meaningful pathways from secondary schooling to higher education and beyond.  

Together, we will continue to offer our local community the transformative power of education—cultivating growth, inspiring bold aspirations, and empowering lifelong success.
