Dear SRJC Community,
In abundance of caution, SRJC evacuated the Call Child Development Center on the Santa Rosa Campus at 10:17am, due to police activity in the area. There was no immediate threat to the community.
By 11:34, the police activity near the Call Child Development Center was cleared and the area deemed safe.
Parents were notified and given instructions for safe pickup of their children. All children were picked up from Haehl Pavilion and employees returned to the Call Child Development Center. The Children’s Center remains closed to the public for the rest of the day. It will reopen on Monday, October 21st for normal business hours.
I would like to recognize our SRJC District Police Department, who were notified of an incident at the National Guard Armory near the Santa Rosa campus. SRJC District Police responded to the scene quickly evacuated the building. We appreciate the dedicated first responders who work tirelessly to keep us safe every day.
I recognize this incident may be triggering for some of you. I want to remind our community help is always available.
