Dear SRJC Community,
As we head into the weekend, I want to remind you that all Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) sites will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, in observance of the federal holiday, Labor Day.
While it's easy to view Labor Day as simply a "day off," this holiday—dating back to the late 1800s—holds much greater significance. It's a tribute to the hard work and dedication of countless individuals who have contributed to the progress of our society, often fighting for better working conditions and fair treatment. Labor Day is a powerful reminder of the strength found in unity and the importance of our collective efforts.
At SRJC, we embody this spirit of collaboration and commitment. Each of you plays an important role in shaping the future of our community. Many SRJC students are working learners, balancing their educational pursuits with employment. Others are preparing to enter the workforce, equipped with the skills and knowledge they've gained while at SRJC. Your dedication and passion make a profound impact on the lives of those we serve.
This Labor Day, I encourage you to take time to relax, recharge, and reflect on the value of your work and its impact on students' lives and the future of our society. Enjoy the company of family and friends and consider the achievements we've made together as a community. Let's also remember our ongoing journey toward equity and inclusion in our educational environment. Each step we take together strengthens our community and enriches the lives of students.
Thank you for your commitment and hard work. I hope that you enjoy the long weekend and return refreshed, ready to continue our important mission.
In Community,
