May 2, 2022, Santa Rosa, CA – The Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) Dance Program will present its Spring Dance Concert, “Bizarre Bazaar,” on May 13, 14, and 15, 2022. They are thrilled to be dancing in Burbank Auditorium’s new state-of-the-art theatre.
The performance is directed by SRJC Dance Coordinator, Casandra Hillman, and instructor, Tanya Knippelmeir. It features new works by guest artist, Jordan Hayes, student choreographers, SRJC Dance faculty, Alqamar Dance Ensemble belly dancers, and the O'Brien Center for the Arts.
“Inspired by the endless possibilities of a bazaar,” said Hillman, “this carnival-style dance performance has been designed to captivate the audience and transform the traditional dance concert setting into an electrifying world full of surprises, thrills, chills, audacity, and amusement. With its joyful spirit, “Bizarre Bazaar” is an energizing force driven by a provocative piece examining human connection, an unpredictably wacky modern dance, a powerful tribute to traditional Ukrainian dance, and a finale that is guaranteed to bring the audience dancing out of their seats.”
“Bizarre Bazaar” will be presented in SRJC’s Burbank Auditorium, 1501 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95401.
Performances are on May 13 and 14 at 7 p.m., and May 15, at 2 p.m.
