Dear SRJC Community, 

At the September 12, 2023, Board of Trustees meeting, the Board unanimously approved SRJC’s Accreditation Follow Up Report, which was due to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) by October 1, 2023.   

The Follow up Report was in response to two accreditation compliance requirements pertaining to Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) which were communicated to the District through an Action Letter from the ACCJC, dated June 14, 2022, following SRJC’s 2022 Accreditation cycle. 
 

The Follow up Report was prepared with broad feedback and shared with the Planning and Budget Council, Academic Senate, Classified Senate, Student Government Assembly, and Management Team before receiving Board approval. 
 

As part of the Accreditation Follow Up Report, a team is scheduled to visit SRJC on November 8, 2023. The team consists of: Ronald P. Gerhard, Chancellor at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District; Tera Martin, Director, Integrated Learning Center & English Instructor at Cabrillo College; and Kevin Bontenbal, Vice President at ACCJC.  
 

During their visit, they will be meeting with key individuals, as well as reviewing course syllabi and SLO assessments. This is not a comprehensive visit, but a follow-up on the two compliance requirements from the Action Letter. SRJC will receive a written report a few weeks later which we may respond to if needed. The report, and our response, will then be sent to ACCJC in January.  
 

Over the past 18 months, we have engaged in extensive work to address the compliance requirements identified by ACCJC. I would like to thank Vice President Robert Holcomb and our constituent group leaders for their collaboration and commitment to move this work forward.  
 

I am optimistic about the upcoming site visit and look forward to sharing a positive report from ACCJC in the new year.
