February 22, 2022, Santa Rosa - We invite your participation in the upcoming Accreditation Peer Review Team Visit, scheduled for Monday, February 28 – Thursday, March 2.  The visit will be virtual, with all meetings and interviews conducted via the Zoom platform.

Following review and input from our college community on the draft of SRJC’s 2022 Institutional Self Evaluation (ISER) in November and subsequent approval by the Board of Trustees on November 30, 2021, the final ISER and all supporting evidence were sent to ACCJC in early December 2021 (https://accreditation.santarosa.edu/2022-institution-self-evaluation-report).

The purpose of the Peer Review Team Visit is twofold.  The first is to conduct a Comprehensive Evaluation for Reaccreditation during which the team reviews SRJC’s ISER to validate and verify alignment with ACCJC Accreditation Standards.  As needed, team members may request interviews and request additional evidence or documentation to assist in the validation process; and that process is underway.  The second purpose of the visit is to conduct a Special Fiscal Monitoring Site Visit conducted in conjunction with a comprehensive evaluation.

For more information on accreditation, go to SRJC’s Accreditation website at https://accreditation.santarosa.edu/.  Dropdown menus will take you to information on the current accreditation process, ACCJC resources, and an archive of past accreditations.

How to Get Involved
There are two important opportunities for you as members of SRJC’s college community to engage in this visit, and I hope you will consider both.  We will communicate these opportunities to students via Canvas and by way of SRJC’s social media channels.  Please feel free to share this information with members of the college community who may have an interest in participating.

Open Forums
Two virtual open forums conducted by the peer review team and facilitated by the team chair are planned during the visit; one on Tuesday, March 1 (3:30 – 5:00 pm) and the second on Wednesday, March 2 (11:30 – 1:00 pm).  These forums are public and everyone from the college community, including students, is welcome.  The forums provide the opportunity for members of the college community to share their perspectives with the team on the college’s efforts to meet Accreditation Standards.  The team chair may make a few opening remarks on the accreditation process and purpose of the open forum and will solicit audience comments. The open forums will not be recorded.  The college president, vice presidents, other Cabinet administrators, and board members will not attend in order to foster an open environment for comments from those who may not have had prior opportunities to meet with the visiting team.  The team does require that all attendees register in advance and receive a meeting ID that grants access to the forum.  You may attend one or both as your schedule allows.

Exit Report
The exit report is conducted on the last day of the virtual visit (Thursday, March 3; 12:00 – 1:00 PM) as the culminating activity of the visit.  The exit report provides the opportunity for the team chair to highlight the team’s findings from the visit.  It is not a two-way communication and is not recorded.  All members of the peer review team are required to be present.  All members of the college community are invited to attend the exit report session and the team requests that attendees register in advance.
