October 5, 2026, Santa Rosa, CA – Santa Rosa Junior College’s Sustainable SRJC program will host its Green Living Fair on October 22, 2026. The event brings students, faculty, staff, and community members together to learn practical ways to make more sustainable choices and extend the life of the things they own.
The event will focus on reuse and repair, with SRJC clubs, local groups, and community organizations sharing information and hands-on resources for reducing waste. Attendees can learn about repair, recycling, and other ways to keep useful items in circulation rather than sending them to the landfill.
The Green Living Fair will feature a variety of activities and resources, including:
- A garment mending bar for simple clothing repairs
- A clothing swap to give gently used clothing a new home
- Bicycle repair assistance
- Small appliance repair
- Freecycle giveaways featuring items available for reuse
- Upcycled crafts and other creative reuse activities
- Information from local organizations and SRJC clubs about sustainable living
“Small actions like repairing a favorite piece of clothing, fixing a bike, or finding a new home for something we no longer need can make a difference,” said Katie Gerber. “The Green Living Fair is a chance for people to learn practical skills, connect with others, and discover simple ways to make reuse part of everyday life.”
Community members are encouraged to bring a garment, bicycle, small appliance, and/or electronic item that needs repair. Those planning to bring an item for mending are encouraged to sign up in advance at sustainability.santarosa.edu.
The Green Living Fair is free and open to students, faculty, staff, and community members.
