February 27, 2025, Petaluma, CA — The Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) Petaluma Campus will host Building Futures on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., celebrating the opening of its newly expanded Construction Training Center. Sonoma County’s enduring resilience in the face of the devastating wildfires since 2017 has become a beacon of hope and strength. The state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to equipping students with hands-on training in construction, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and more, to support skilled tradespeople who will rebuild homes, infrastructure, and communities across Sonoma County.
The event will feature local food, fine wines, live demonstrations, and student success stories, offering attendees a chance to experience firsthand the impact of this vital program. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the modernized training center, interact with faculty and students, and witness how hands-on learning prepares graduates for successful careers in the skilled trades.
