June 16, 2024, Santa Rosa - The Point Fire burning in Sonoma County near Lake Sonoma has caused smoke and concern over air quality conditions.  At this time, all SRJC sites are unaffected, and all on-site operations and classes will continue as planned for Monday, June 17. 

As a reminder, the District uses EPA AirNow for outdoor air quality measurements and does not measure indoor air quality. You can find more information about air quality at https://safety.santarosa.edu/air-quality. Facilities Operation activated the automated fire mode for all buildings connected to its global building management system earlier today to close outside air dampers and prevent smoke from being pulled into the building.  

Our top priority is the safety of our employees, students, and community members. Our community is all too familiar with evacuations and the dangers of such fires. This fire may be triggering for you so please get in touch with one of the resources below if you need help.  

• For individuals in immediate crisis, please dial or text 988 to speak with a crisis counselor anytime in English and Spanish for free. For emergencies, always dial 911 at home or District Police on campus at 707-527-1000. 
• Student Psychological Service therapists are available throughout the day. For an appointment, call 707-527-4445 or email studenthealthservices@santarosa.edu. Students can also schedule an appointment by stopping by the Bertolini Student Center on the third Floor. Same-day appointments are often available. 
• Employees can also utilize the Employee Assistance Program by entering “SISC” as the company name. 

Any employees with health concerns who would prefer to remain at home may do so by utilizing sick leave. If you choose this, please tell your supervisor, faculty chair, or dean.
