February 25, 2026 - Santa Rosa, California – The Santa Rosa Junior College Theatre Arts Department is excited to announce the opening of its Spring 2026 season with the play “Boeing Boeing". The production opens Friday, February 27, 2026, and runs through Sunday, March 8, in the Frank Chong Studio Theatre inside Burbank Auditorium on the SRJC Santa Rosa Campus.
This 1960s French farce features Parisian playboy Bernard, who has Italian, German, and American fiancées, each a beautiful airline hostess with frequent “layovers.” Bernard's life hits some turbulence when his friend Robert comes to stay, and the weather plus a new, speedier Boeing jet disrupts his careful planning. Soon, all three stewardesses are in the city, and catastrophe looms.
The Tony Award-winning play is written by Marc Camoletti and translated by Beverley Cross and Francis Evans. The English version of the play debuted in London in 1962, and by 1991, it was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most-performed French play worldwide.
“In 2011, I worked on a production of Boeing Boeing at Trinity Rep, and had an absolute blast. After working these last 6 weeks with our students and design team, I still find myself laughing at this brilliant, farcical satire.” Justin Smith, Director
“Boeing Boeing is an unashamedly old-fashioned, broad kind of comedy which pays no heed to modern-day sensibilities. It gleefully plays on stereotypes and, like all good farces, relies on some improbable plot twists to keep the story moving along.” John Murphy – Exeunt Magazine
