October 22, 2026. Santa Rosa, CA — The Campaign for College Opportunity has named Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) a 2026 Pathway Champion of Placement Equity for Black Student Success, marking the second consecutive year the college has received a Pathway Champion recognition for its efforts to advance equitable student outcomes.

The annual Pathway Champions recognition celebrates California Community Colleges and California State University campuses working to improve college completion and transfer opportunities. The Placement Equity recognition highlights efforts to remove barriers that can prevent students from accessing the courses they need to make progress toward a degree and transfer to a four-year university.

Last year, SRJC was recognized as a 2025 Pathway Champion of Equity for supporting Black students’ completion of transfer-level math within one year of enrollment. This year’s recognition underscores the college’s continued work to expand access and help students move forward on their educational paths.

“At SRJC, we believe in providing all students with clear pathways to their college dreams, including access to the transfer-level courses that help them get there. This recognition highlights the intentional work and success of Black/African American students,” said SRJC Superintendent/President Dr. Angélica Garcia.
